Message from Padma Devi :  

"At this balancing point in human society, at the beginning of the new year, I offer this Satsang,  In The Light of Peace, with the suggestion that through meditation, we can discover peace is our own real nature.   So many people say that when they practise heart-centred yoga and meditation, they discover peace is the ground of being.  Sometimes even when our life seems to be in flames and chaos is all around us in the outside world, we discover an unshakeable core within us that seems to be all peaceful, all serene.  It is the real, unchanging part of us and its nature is Peace.

In this Satsang, together we share the hope and prayer that one day violence and war will no longer have a place in our world.  There is a shared thought amongst everyone who was gathered together on that day, that if we can abolish the war within us, if we can declare Peace in our own hearts, then it can flow out from us into the world.

You may think that by yourself, you can't make any difference.  But remember, one person can indeed make a difference.  Gandhi was one man who brought about a peaceful  change  of rule in India through the practice of inner peace.  Martin Luther King helped to bring about a peaceful change in society in the USA by sharing his dream. And if you've ever shared a room with just one mosquito or a spider, you will know that one can have a powerful effect just by being!

In this Satsang I include a new practice - the Breath of Peace.  I hope you will enjoy it again and again,  and perhaps incorporate it into your life as a meditation to discover that when we  live this way, wherever we go we bring peace, just by our presence. We are effortlessly able to follow Gandhi's beautiful advice "Be the change you want to see."  

And I offer you this poem called Peace in the Heart by Lao Tzu, the author of the Tao Te Ching.

"If there is to be peace in the world  There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations  There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities  There must be peace between neighbours.

If there is to be peace between neighbours  There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home  There must be peace in the heart."

May there be Peace in every Heart.
